"Painting is a good way to express yourself. My other side comes out.” – Cam, Scope artist
Scope artist, Cam Syer is a thoughtful man with an eye for colour and a love of painting. He has been participating in Scope’s Kaleidoscope program for over seven years.
Cam’s most recent creation ‘Moving Pictures’ placed third in the 2019 Annual Kaleidoscope Competition. Cam describes the piece as “a checkerboard of many pictures” with each square representing all kinds of things happening in Cam’s life, good experiences and changes in mood.
Cam was feeling really good on the day he painted it, so when he looks at it, it brings him joy.
“I’m proud of ‘Moving Pictures’. It took a number of weeks to complete. I love to see the painting completed. Thinking about the final result keeps me motivated to continue each week.”
Art is a fantastic way for us to express ourselves. It is an important outlet for people of all abilities to develop their talents, explore their creativity and express their emotions.
Please help us continue to deliver our vital programs such as Kaleidoscope – ensuring that we can empower the people we support to make their own
choices in life and challenge boundaries.
